Having nicked my dad's digital camera I thought I'd make my first attempt at photography (well, photographing anything other than drunk friends etc.). Took some pictures on Bunny Hill, Newcastle-u-Lyme and this one was the only one I actually liked.
Still a long way to go (and the camera is fairly crap) but what do you think for a first try?
Photography's not exactly my strength, but I have to admit it looks like a cool tree. And the view is pretty awesome because it almost looks like you're standing sideways on it... which would actually be a pretty interesting thing to do...
It's hardly my strength really but I will learn *puts on determined face* Glad you liked it- I wanted to take it from lower down to get more of the trunk in but then I'd have had to contend with things like nettles and sudden rabbit holes...
Nice shot. The image has a slightly compressed look to it, but I think that's a camera issue. I'm a novice with a not-great camera, too, so I feel you. You have a good eye for composition, though.
